Born and raised in San Antonio, Richard attended the University of Texas at San Antonio and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting. Richard earned his Certificate of Public Accountancy in the State of Texas in 1982 and holds membership in the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) and the San Antonio Chapter of Certified Public Accountants.
